CMBM HOLDINGS · MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
An Australian company story that began with one problem at Richmond Boxing Club - and grew into four businesses built around human movement.
Origin
The Pod is where the platform is going. The story starts several years earlier, with a mirror built to help young athletes train without another person hitting them.
2023
COMBAT MIRROR™
Born at Richmond Boxing Club in Melbourne, Combat Mirror let athletes see guard, stance and technique while striking at real speed and power. The reflection was not decoration. It became part of the movement.
2024
COMBAT MIRROR APP
The Combat Mirror app brought movement tracking, live feedback and biomechanical analysis to the training experience. It showed how the reflective interface could connect what an athlete sees with what the system records.
2025
KINETIC POD INC.
Through a three-phase research project led by Assoc. Prof. Emel Demircan PhD, California State University Long Beach, we began to understand the wider impact of the protected system. Human motion capture was reconstructed in Stanford OpenSim and retargeted into a humanoid simulation pipeline. The work revealed a path from the strikeable reflective surface to a complete environment for force-aware human movement data, digital twins and robotics research. That realisation gave rise to KINETIC POD INC.
THE DISTRIBUTION LAYER
2026
COMBAT MIRROR MEDIA
Combat Mirror Media was created to document and distribute the people, research and ideas emerging from Combat Mirror, Kinetic Intelligence and KINETIC POD INC.
The group
CMBM Holdings owns the intellectual property and licenses it to the businesses that build the hardware, capture the data, and tell the story.
From a boxing club in Richmond, the group has grown around one protected idea: that seeing movement differently can change what comes next.
Built in Melbourne. Made for movement everywhere.
